Yesterday, together with colleagues — heads of territorial communities — I participated in the General Assembly of the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities, which took place in Kyiv in the format of a congress of delegates.
Even in conditions of martial law, it is extremely important for communities to maintain democratic procedures and have an effective platform for open dialogue, joint decisions, and addressing urgent challenges.
During the assembly, elections for leadership were held: Oleksandr Korinnyy was re-elected as the head of the All-Ukrainian Association of UTC. New deputy heads of the Association and heads of regional branches were also presented.
An important part of the event was direct dialogue between representatives of local self-government and the Minister for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Vitalii Bezgin. Participants discussed the most critical issues concerning communities in various areas:
security challenges and financial sustainability;
development of the education sector;
quality preparation for the new school year.
The strength of local self-government lies in cooperation, a unified position, and the ability to find effective solutions under any circumstances. The voice of territorial communities must remain strong, convincing, and heard at the central level.
