Good deeds and exceptional courage deserve to be recognized. Chairman of Bilohorodska Community Anton Ovsienko met with young residents of Sviatopetrivske village to personally express his gratitude for their assistance in recovery from the hit to a residential building that occurred on June 2.
Students from grades 9–11 of the local educational institution were among the first to arrive at the scene. Despite their youth, the boys and girls unhesitatingly engaged in the hardest work: they helped the affected residents carry out salvageable belongings, cleared debris, and cleaned the area of fragments and construction waste. They did everything that was necessary in that critical moment.
«Each of them deserves deep respect and gratitude. True help is measured not by years, but by readiness to lend a hand and be there for people when they need it,» said Anton Ovsienko.
Particularly touching and yet painful was the story of one of the teenagers. The young man moved to Kyiv region from Donetsk region. For him, this was not his first experience dealing with the aftermath of shelling — previously, he had already helped his neighbors in the eastern part of the country. That is why in Sviatopetrivske, he unhesitatingly joined the work, because he clearly knew what needed to be done and how to do it in the first moments after the strike. Such awareness and resilience of the young generation are impressive and command great respect.
Due to their commitments (taking the NMT, preparing for admission or working), not all heroes were able to attend the meeting in person, but the community leadership assures: there is enough attention and gratitude for each one, because the community should know its heroes by face.
«It is from such a caring, responsible, and united youth that the future of a strong Ukraine begins — ready to support its own. I sincerely thank you on behalf of the entire Bilohorodska Community and the residents of the damaged house!» concluded the head of the community.
