New Opportunities and Resilience: Veterans of Bilohorodka Community Undergo Advanced Prosthetics

Veterans from our community are entering the final stage of recovery thanks to a partnership with the MSOR Ukraine center. Modern prosthetics are enabling our defenders to return to an active lifestyle, participate in sports, and overcome physical limitations.

The Bilohorodka community continues its veteran support program, helping our heroes literally stand on their feet again. The first participants of the program are already in the final stages of receiving high-tech prosthetic devices.

First Steps and Big Dreams

Today, two prominent residents of our community underwent their initial consultations with specialists from MSOR Ukraine:

  • Olha Benda — a war veteran, captain of the Ukrainian Women’s National Amputee Football Team, and ambassador for the Ukrainian Veteran Foundation. After sustaining a severe injury near Avdiivka in 2017, Olha lost her leg but never her spirit. Today, a modern prosthesis was custom-made for her, and she took her first steps on it the very same day.

  • Oleksandra Zolotukhina — the goalkeeper for the National Amputee Football Team. Oleksandra dreams of living and playing without limits. Thanks to prosthetics, her goal of having full functionality in both hands is becoming a reality.

Significant progress is also being made by Mykhailo Melnyk, a veteran and employee of the Village Council. He has already received his socket and is moving through the next stages of the fitting process to fully regain mobility on both legs.

International Expertise for Ukrainian Heroes

During the visit, a meeting was held with the founder of MSOR, Michael Corcoran, who brings over 20 years of experience from U.S. military hospitals. The expert highlighted the extraordinary motivation of Ukrainians:

"Ukrainians are among the most motivated people in the world when it comes to returning to life," Michael Corcoran emphasized, explaining his decision to expand his mission here in Ukraine.

More Than Just Medicine

The Bilohorodka community expresses its sincere gratitude to the MSOR Ukraine team for their professionalism and humanity. High-tech prosthetics are not just a medical service; they represent the restoration of dignity, mobility, and a new quality of life for those who sacrificed their health for our freedom.

We are proud of our people's resilience and remain committed to doing everything possible to provide them with maximum opportunities for recovery.
